KPop Saturdays: TVXQ’s “Catch Me”

Hi guys,

I saw this video a few weeks back and thought it would be fun to post. I didn’t find the song that interesting, but I really thought the video choreography was pretty creative:

TVXQ is another venerable boy-band in KPop and all over Asia. Because their name has a Chinese origin, 東方神起,1 it’s read differently by different countries. In Japan, I often heard my wife and her friend talk about a group named tōhōshinki, but I didn’t realize at the time that this was TVXQ, just with a Japanese-style reading of the Chinese characters. 😛

TVXQ hasn’t really ventured into Western audiences as much as some other groups, but make no mistake, if you travel in Asia, you will definitely hear about them. And just as well. 🙂

1 The name if you’re curious is “Rising Gods of the East”.

  1. Yeah, wow, super creative video. Futuristic Sci-Fi! And the arm linking thing is cool, too. Very attentive to costumes, sets and lighting… the video editor is really amazing here too. Thanks for keeping me in the loop for K-pop videos. It’s a new subject to me, and I totally love it. More, please. 🙂
