KPop Saturdays: Girl’s Day “Don’t Forget Me”

This is a new song by a lesser-known, though still popular, KPop group called Girl’s Day:

Girl’s Day is a somewhat unusual group because they got their start doing dance flash mobs in the streets of Seoul before their official debut (albeit under a record label). They’re a particularly versatile group, as you can see in another song/video Oh! My God which is pretty hilarious. I intended to post that one first, but I liked the one above plus it was newer. As with Orange Caramel’s “Lipstick” or Gangnam Style, sometimes the silliest videos are the best ones though. πŸ˜‰

Anyhow, this video and story are an interesting twist on the popular theme of “boy and girl fall in love” type songs, and for some reason I really liked the set, the lighting and pastel-colored outfits. It is a cute song, and the video was well-put together. Also, Girl’s Day posted a video commentary on this song and interview, which includes English subtitles! Very nice to see KPop record labels reaching out more to international fans. I really appreciated it. Anyhow, Girl’s Day is a promising new group and I certainly support their efforts and I hope you will too.
