Beginner Buddhism Season 2, Lesson 3: Prayer and Divine Protection in Buddhism

I finally had a chance to answer a question by viewer Yanyanyan70 on this subject:

For some reason the video thumbnail turned out really terrible in this video. You can choose 3 thumbnails and this was still the best one. I’ll remember to make fewer hand-motions next time. ;p

Anyhow, seriously, the subject of prayer and divine protection in Buddhism is a tricky one because it doesn’t quite resemble prayer in a western-religious sense, but it still is an important part of Buddhism for many people. So, this was an effort to explain it from a Mahayana-Buddhist standpoint.

P.S. Yan, I hope this answers your question. I thought about it for a while and it was hard to come up with an answer that I could concisely explain (i.e. a video shorter than 45 minutes. 😉 ).
